Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer?

Peak season: May to September, aim for 12 to 18 months in advance.

Off-peak season (October to April) and weekdays aim for 6 to 10 months notice.

Are you available on our wedding date?

Please go to the contact page on the website and message me your date and venue location. I'll confirm availability as quickly as possible.

Is 2 hours enough time for wedding photos?

Two hours is usually enough if your day is ceremony‑only or a very short celebration at one location. This is why I do an hourly option with a minimum book of 2 hours.

What is the cheapest month to get married?

January, February, and November are considered the cheapest months to get married in the UK.

How do we secure our wedding date with you?

Dates are held only with a signed contract and a non‑refundable booking fee. Once both are received, your date is removed from my calendar and reserved exclusively for you.

Do you hold dates without a deposit?

No. To be fair to all couples, dates are only held once the contract is signed and the booking fee is paid.

How many weddings do you take on per year / per season?

I limit the number of weddings I photograph each year to ensure every couple receives full attention and a high level of service. Exact numbers vary by season, but I intentionally keep my calendar selective.

Is it worth it to hire a wedding photographer?

For almost every couple I’ve worked with, the biggest regret around photography is cutting corners and not investing properly. I always recommend that my clients invest in a skilled wedding photographer and a quality album, your images will last a lifetime.

Will you be the photographer on our day, or could it be someone else?

I personally photograph all my booked weddings. If a second photographer is included or added, I’ll introduce you to them in advance and remain your lead photographer.

What happens if you’re ill or unable to attend our wedding?

In the unlikely event I cannot attend due to illness or emergency, I will arrange a suitable replacement photographer of comparable style and experience. If no replacement is available, all payments made will be refunded in full.

Do you work alone or with a second photographer?

I work as lead photographer on every wedding. A second photographer is optional and recommended for larger weddings, multiple locations, or when you’d like extra coverage during key moments.

How much is an average wedding photographer in the UK?

How much is an average wedding photographer in the UK? Based on current UK data, the average cost for a full‑day wedding photographer in 2026 is around £1,400–£1,800. What is a cheap price for a wedding photographer? My full‑day package starts at £1,400, placing it at the lower end of the market while still delivering premium‑quality imagery. I take pride in keeping my pricing as affordable as possible without compromising on the final results.

Do you offer payment plans for wedding photography?

Can I spread the cost of my wedding photography package?

Yes. I offer flexible payment plans so you can spread the cost of your photography package over time, rather than paying everything upfront. All instalments are scheduled so that your package is paid in full on or before your wedding day. The final payment is usually taken shortly before the wedding to ensure everything is settled in advance. Please click on the Payment Options tab on the FAQ menu for more details.

Can I add a second photographer later if I change my mind?

Yes, subject to availability, please let me know as early as possible so I can secure a second shooter you're comfortable with.

How long should you expect to wait for wedding photos?

All couples that I work with will receive a full wedding photo gallery within 4-6 weeks. Sneak peek and teaser photos usually within 24 to 72 hours.

Can we customise your packages (hours, second shooter, engagement session, album)?

Absolutely. Packages can be tailored for additional hours, a second photographer, engagement sessions, albums, and wall art. Tell me what matters most to you and I’ll build a package that fits.

Is it worth hiring a second photographer?

Yes hiring a second photographer is a safe bet, especially if you want more coverage, multiple angles, individual photographers for the bride and the groom getting ready shots. It's a great way to make sure that every single moment is covered.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept bank transfers and online card payments. Full details and the payment schedule are provided in your contract. You can also spread the cost of your wedding package over time rather than paying upfront.

What is your deposit/booking fee, and when is the balance due?

A non‑refundable booking fee of 20% secures your date. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding. If you would rather spread the cost in monthly instalments at 0% interest, we have you covered.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Cancellation by you: The booking fee is non‑refundable as it covers administrative time and reserving your date. Further charges may apply depending on how close to the wedding you cancel (outlined in the contract).

Rescheduling: One reschedule is usually permitted, subject to my availability and within [X months] of the original date. Additional reschedules may incur a fee.

Cancellation by me: If I must cancel for any reason, I will make every effort to secure a suitable replacement. If none is available, all payments will be refunded in full.

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes, I hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Certificates can be provided to venues on request.

When should we book other suppliers in relation to you (planner, videographer, etc.)?

As soon as your venue and date are confirmed, prioritise photographer, videographer, and planner/coordinator. These are the most date‑sensitive suppliers. Others (flowers, cake, transport) can often be booked a bit later, but popular vendors still fill quickly in peak season.
